SAFBON WATER TECHNOLOGY IS PART OF TAMPA ELECTRIC’S AWARD WINNING RECLAIMED WATER PROJECT

By September 22, 2015News

In early April of this year, SafBon Water Technology (fomerly Doosan Hydro Technology) completed start-up & commissioning of the reverse osmosis (RO) system, consisting of two (2) 2.4 MGD RO trains, located at the Tampa Electric Company (TECO) Polk Power Station Water Reclaimed Treatment Plant (RTP). TECO has also awarded SafBon Water a contract for a third RO train  as part of the facility expansion scheduled for delivery in early 2016.

This Reclaimed Treatment Plant is part of Polk Power Station’s Regional Reclaimed Water Project, which collects and treats reclaimed water from the City of Lakeland and, in the near future, from Polk County and the City of Mulberry. The RO system is used to perform the final polishing step in the purification of the wastewater before it is reused in the power station cooling water system.

SafBon Water Technology is honored to participate in this project and congratulates Tampa Electric for its Edison Electric Institute’s 2015 Edison Award which recognizes their innovative approach in the development and execution of this reclaimed water project.
